Delhi-based NGO Universal Knowledge Trust (UKT) is set to organize a consultation on “Minorities Development: Policies, Priorities and Needs – An Agenda for the New Government” on 19 June 2014 in New Delhi.
The program, which will be held in Jamia Nagar area from 10AM onwards, is organized by UKT in collaboration with All India Educational Movement (AIEM) and Islamic Relief India (IRI).
We request representatives of various civil society organizations to mull over and reflect on the ‘Needs/Issues’ of minorities and collectively develop a charter of demands for submission to the government, said UKT president Abdul Rashid Agwan.
The deliberation of the Consultation is expected to have following outputs:
a) Developing a broad understanding on the needs/issues of Muslims, minorities and other weaker sections of the country.
b) Developing a charter of demand for new government.
c) Developing broader strategies to advance and promote minority issues – especially in the backdrop of explosion of social media and its use in the current election.
d) Developing a working group to carry forward the recommendations of the consultation at various levels.
