Lokayat to organise a rally in Support of Comrade Govind Pansare in Pune on Feb 19

The all progressive-organisations in Pune will be taking out a rally on Feb 19 expressing solidarity with Comrade Govind Pansare and his ideology on the theme entitled –Propogating the real Shivaji among the people.
Neeraj Jain, Convenor of Pune based progressive social organization Lokayat stated that the topic of ‘ real Shivaji ’ is very close to Pansare’s heart and for which he has received numerous threat from right wing forces inimical to the constitution of the country.
Chhatrapati Shivaji was a secular, people’s king, but the right-wing forces are out to portray Shivaji as a Hindu king. As all of you know,Com Govind Pansare had written a best-selling book, SHIVAJI KAUN HOTA? (Who was Shivaji?),which has sold more than 1 lakh copies in Maharashtra alone, apart from being translated into several Indian languages, he stated.
With Shiv Jayanti falling on February 19, all the various groups present at the Protest Demonstration earlier have agreed to take out a Rally on the Theme of Shivaji – the Secular, People’s King to express our Solidarity with Comrade Govind Pansare, he stated.
