Gangtok: Anjuman Islamia Masjid in Rangpo (a town in East Sikkim) opened for regular prayers, eight years after it was kept locked due to dispute between the two Muslim communities.

Rangpo Police Station head officer Tshering Sherpa inaugurated the Masjid in the presence of other delegates from other communities like L.M. Khawas, Devanand Agarwal and Sankar Jaiswal.

Anjuman Islamia president Mohammad Khalid said police inspector Tshering Sherpa’s endeavor in organising several meetings between the two communities had resolved the dispute.
