Jamia to organize National Seminar on ‘Cyber Crimes: Issues and Challenges’

New Delhi: With the objective of critically analysing and discussing the newly emergent threats in the cyber space and finding holistic measures to curb the menace, the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia is organising a One Day National Seminar titled ‘Cyber Crimes: Issues and Challenge’ on 9th March 2019. The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Session would be noted Supreme Court Lawyer, Mr. Pavan Duggal. Prof. (Dr.) Tabrez Ahmad, Director, School of Law, UPES, Dehradun and Prof. Afshar Alam, Head, School of Computer Science, Jamia Hamdard would grace the occasion with their eminent presence as the Keynote Speaker and Guest of Honour, respectively. The welcome address would be delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Nuzhat Parveen Khan, Dean, Faculty of Law, JMI. Throughout the day, in varied parallel running sessions Academics, Researchers, Lawyers and students of law and other subjects would be engaging with the nuances of crimes committed in the cyber space.

The Valedictory session would witness the illuminating presence of Prof. (Dr.) S.D. Sharma, Dr. B B Ambedkar University, Lucknow and Prof. (Dr.) Afzal Wani ,School of Law, GGS IP University, Delhi as the Guest of Honour and Chief Guest, respectively. This seminar is a culmination of vision and endeavour of the convenors, Dr. Ghulam Yazdani and Dr. Qazi Mohammad Usman. 

The Faculty of Law looks forward to the presence and engagement of students, scholars, researchers, academics and alumni in this academic event.
