In its First Entrepreneurship Summit, Jamia decides to prepare a blueprint for involving Alumni Entrepreneurs in establishing startups of Students

New Delhi: Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Jamia Millia Islamia organized an entrepreneurship summit “EmphasisO” on 13th -14th April, 2019. Internship fair, entrepreneurs talk, alumni entrepreneurs networking session, Startup Pitching session with the investors and many more events were organized In this two-day E summit. Around 450 delegates from different universities, industry and JMI participated in the summit.

Dr Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor in Chief, BW Business World & Exchange4Media was the Chief Guest of the function. The inaugural session was presided over by Mr. A.P. Siddiiqui (IPS), Registrar, JMI. Dr. Unnat Pandit, Head of Operations, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director, NIESBUD were the Guests of Honour in the event.

Entrepreneurs talk were delivered by the eminent entrepreneurs like Mr. Kunwer Sachdev, Founder, Su-Kam, Mr. Saurabh Jain, Vice President, PayTM and Mr. Vikas Jain, Co-Founder of Micromax Informatics followed by the Question-Answer Session.

An alumni entrepreneurship meet was also organized in which 30 alumni entrepreneurs participated.  Prof. Zishan Husain Khan, Director, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Dr. Rihan Khan Suri, Training and Placement Officer, JMI urged alumni entrepreneurs to come forward to support students of JMI in establishing more and more successful startups. Participants decided to prepare a  a blueprint for involving the alumni entrepreneurs actively as the mentors and investors of the startup of students.It was also decided that the next meet will be organized in December, 2019 to start working on the blueprint.

On 14th April, an internship fair was organized where 40 companies participated and recruited hundreds of students for the internship training. The event ended with vote of thanks to participants and officials of companies.
