New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia has made yet another improvement in international rankings. This time it has been placed at 188 rank by the London-based Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings- 2019, improving its position from 201-250 last year. THE gives specific rank to the university which comes under 200 rank.
This year THE has ranked more than 400 universities, up from just 350 last year. These universities come from 27 countries/regions.
THE has based its ranking on scores in five key parameters — Citations, Industry Income, International Outlook, Research and Teaching. JMI has scored maximum points for its teaching, industry income and citation.
It may be noted that last month JMI was ranked at 631 position worldwide by Moscow-based Round University Ranking(RUR) 2019 among 1100 universities assessed globally, improving its ranking from 747 last year.
Elated by the continuous improvements in JMI’s international rankings, Vice-Chancellor, JMI, Prof. Najma Akhtar said that “It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for the university. This reflects the hard work of the teachers and other staff. Because of their dedication, our graph is continuously going high at international level. I would like to thank all my colleagues and staff for this achievement. JMI will try to improve its position further in the coming years.”
In March THE had released its first ever University Impact Rankings-2019 in which JMI was ranked 301+ worldwide and scored maximum points under Gender Equality, Quality Education and Good Health & Wellbeing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
