AMU Faculty in ‘Highly Cited Researchers list’

Aligarh: For his exceptional contribution to Plant and Animal Science, Prof Nafees Ahmad Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been placed at a coveted spot in the prestigious ‘Highly Cited Researchers list’ released by Web of Science Group of Clarivate Analytics.

He is among 10 most influential researchers from India as determined by their peers around the globe – those who have consistently won recognition in the form of high citation counts over a decade.

The list comprises over 4000 scientists featuring the world’s top one percent researchers who have demonstrated the strongest performance in their research areas by way of highly cited papers and total citations.

The research focus of Prof Nafees is mainly on understanding the mechanisms of hormonal and nutritional regulation of plant growth with an emphasis on abiotic stress vis-a-vis photosynthetic efficiency and abiotic stress tolerance.

Prof Nafees has over 27 years of teaching experience in which he has supervised 15 PhD dissertations and five MPhil thesis. He has also supervised eight research projects.

Prof Nafees has written chapters for 25 books and has published 151 research papers in renowned international and national journals.

He did his BSc, MSc, PhD and DSc in botany from AMU.
