Telangana State’s Pink Poison Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) in an alleged conspiracy in the political ethnic cleansing of Muslims to disempower them now and disenfranchise them later. The Islamophobic KCR had fooled Muslims with false promises in the past two elections to walk away with Muslim votes and grab power. In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, the chameleon BRS, which was the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), had allotted just three tickets to Muslims. Only a Muslim candidate, Mohammed Shakil Aamir, was elected from the Bodhan Assembly constituency. KCR’s hate for Muslims continues as only three candidates were given BRS tickets for the coming Assembly elections.
Out of the three candidates, two from Charminar and Bahadurpura are political lambs for slaughter given the beastly might of a local political party they have to face. In Bodhan, Aamir is fighting for his political survival after falling out with some local goons. The voters are disgruntled with Aamir, as hardly any development work was carried out. The BJP is strongly placed in the Bodhan constituency, as KCR, his son K T Rama Rao, and KCR’s daughter K Kavitha seemed to have ganged up against their sole Muslim party legislator to get him defeated. They are all striving for Muslim-Mukt BRS after an RSS emissary from its top leadership carried a ‘special message’ for KCR to protect the ‘Hindu cause’!
The miniscule Velma community, to which KCR belongs and makes up 3% of the population, has secured nine assembly tickets. This is similar to the vast number of Velama officers in the State Secretariat. The influential, stinkingly rich Reddy community, constituting 6.5% of the population, has secured an eye-popping 39 tickets out of the 115 announced out of 119 seats so far. Muslims, who make up 14.46% of the population, were thrown three crumbs of tickets. They have been treated worse than the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category. The STs, who constitute 9.91% of the population, were granted 11 seats. The Scheduled Castes (SCs) segment, constituting 17.5% of the population, walked away with 19 tickets from the BRS. KCR, as chief minister, discriminated heavily against Muslims. He did not give any loans to Muslims in the last 4 years! This year, KCR pretends to give loans of Rs. 1 lakh each to a few Muslims. The Muslim political slaves of BRS lauded KCR for this ‘bribery attempt’ just before the elections, as the opposition called it. On the other hand, KCR showered the SCs in the name of Dalit Bandhu with individual loans of Rs 1 crore each!
Telangana Chief Minister KCR has not kept his promises to the Muslim community. He destroyed the Waqf properties by allegedly getting the record room of the Waqf Board locked up! He snatched away the Waqf property of Dargah Hadhrat Hussain Shah Wali, worth more than Rs. 1 lakh crore, after going back on his promise to restore the Dargah lands if the TRS came to power. The political chameleon dictated to the Telangana government to fight the case against the Waqf Board to take away the land meant for the poor Muslims of the community. The promised Islamic Community Center never came up! Scholarships for Muslim students have dried up!
The BRS and KCR seem to think that Muslims have no choice but to support the BRS. They are scaring away the Muslims by saying that if they do not vote for the BRS, the BJP may come to power, which can harm them. KCR should remember that he cannot fool everyone all the time. The jittery CM KCR, who is sailing in two boats, is fighting from two constituencies. This time KCR will lock horns against the much-defeated Congress low-weight candidate and former Waqf minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir in the Kamareddy segment. KCR has a personal axe to grind with Shabbir, the self-proclaimed leader of Muslims in the Telangana Congress. Congress seems to be in a dreamland, hoping that Telangana will do a Karnataka. Rahul Gandhi should rekindle Indira Gandhi’s connection with Telangana, starting from Medak!
