The concept of creating machines that can operate autonomously dates back to classical times, but research into the functionality and potential uses of robots did not grow substantially until the 20th century. Throughout history, robotics has been often seen to mimic human behavior, and often manage tasks in a similar fashion.
Today, robotics is a rapidly growing field, as technological advances continued; research, design, and building new robots serve various practical purposes, whether domestically, commercially, or militarily.
Robotics has been the driving force in the education systems of the US, Europe and Japan; the same is not available in India, the reason being prohibitive cost of imported kits and lack of trainers and training materials.
A team of engineers and educationist have developed a module which is suitable for Indian school course curriculum, and have also built a team of trainers for training and development; but again issue comes for school management interest, instead of what future technology demands.
Using robotics we can conduct many experiments of science and also teach mathematics, algebra, and Geometry and computer science to the students from class third onward in a fun and play manner.
If the student does his experiments using robotic models he will remember the experiment forever, instead of teaching him theoretically. Today we don’t have many trained person in the field of robotics.
There is a myth among few startup Robotic companies that “Adoption of robotics is possible within few hours or within a week”. Rather it needs to be of general practice to be applicable in each module of learning, thus avoiding unnecessary expenses and let the robotics program be more practical in our education system.
