New Delhi: Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them. It was the book launch of a young poetess that lived up to everyone’s expectations. Sia Gupta. a 10-year old girl studying in Class 6th launched her Fairy Tale Rhyme series titled “Tales in Rhyme” published by Om Books International at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Mr Amitabh Kant, CEO Niti Aayog, Mr Ajay Mago, Publisher, Om Books International along with theatre personalities Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal released the book.  The editor of OM Books Ms Amrita Varma and the youngest author on the panel of OM books International, Sia Gupta shared their experiences of bringing the books to life with the audience. The series consists of 4 tales in rhyme comprising of Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

As they say “Being a poet is a condition, not a profession”. On sharing her experience with editor Amrita Varma about her love for fairy tales, Sia said “I love the stories in fairy tales, there is someone evil and someone nice and good always wins. The stories are sometimes funny and sometimes scary but fairy tales have everything that you need”. Further talking about her process of writing, she said “I do not really prepare. I always carry a piece of paper with me and write whenever I feel like. I do not put too much concentration or it makes my work bad. I like to doodle and after I do that for a bit, I get ideas and start writing”. Ajay Mago, the Publisher of Om Books International expressing his views about the young author said “Sia is the youngest author at Om Books International, and that in itself speaks of her exceptional talent and way with words. “Tales in Rhymes” is an interesting way of teaching popular tales and the art of rhyme to little children, and Sia accomplishes that very well.  And she is already brimming with new ideas for books.  The Chief Guest of the evening, CEO of Niti Aayog Mr Amitabh Kant said “I have attended several book launches earlier, but I have never seen an author with so much of confidence, creativity and clarity. Sia is an absolute genius. Such creativity from a 10-year old is phenomenal and I hope she becomes one of the greatest authors in the world”

Young people need role models, not critics. Theatre personalities Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal encouraged the young author by reading excerpts from her poems from the series “Tales of Rhyme”. Thus, the event concluded with everyone praising Sia and wishing her bright future.
