New Delhi: Muslim organisations and leaders have come forward to ‘strongly condemn’ the 13/7 Mumbai serial blasts.

Zafar ul-Islam Khan of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) told media, “Indian Muslims strongly condemn last (Wednesday) evening’s criminal and cowardly act of bomb blasts in Mumbai.”

City based NGO Initiative for Nationalism, Secularism and Affirmative Action Network (INSAAN) issued a statement condemning the attack and expressing their solidarity with the victims’ family. The statement also added, “We extend heart felt sympathies and support to the grieving families. We appeal to the nation to keep calm and extend support to the families that have lost their dear ones.”

All India Insaaf (Justice) Committee, the organisation of Rajyasabha MP Aziz Pasha, too issued a statement expressing solidarity with the vicitms’ family.

The Indian American Muslim Council too has condemned the serial blasts and “called upon the Home Ministry to conduct a thorough investigation into the blasts, and ensure that the culprits as well as those that inspired them are exposed and brought to justice.”

Muslim leaders have further requested the administration and the media to refrain from a rush to judgement until the results of the investigation are known as  several bomb blasts in recent years, led to innocent youth from a specific community being thrown into prison, and still struggling to secure justice, even after the real masterminds confessed.

Jamiatul Ulema and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind too have condemned the horrifying incident.
