Pardarshita is organizing a half day Bal Sunwai on implementation of Right to Education Act. As we know that the Right to Education Act (RTE) has been enacted w.e.f.1st April, 2010. There are many provisions in the Act which promise accessible education and a good study environment to each and every child of the country. But unfortunately, thousands of children are continuing to face many hurdles against the provisions of the said Act.
In order to discuss some of the barriers that hamper their progress, around 300 children from different parts of city have taken initiative in conceptualising a dialogue with the authorities that are meant to protect their rights, and the organisation is playing a facilitating role.
To deal with the grim situation of poor education head-on and in a first-of-its-kind initiative, children from Seemapuri and different parts of city are holding a BAL SUNWAI on 26th December, 2013 (Thursday) from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM. Not only issues related with direct access to education would be raised but also other issues that obstruct the overall implementation of the RTE. The Sunwai would also bring together other organisations working on child rights issues in various parts of Delhi.
We understand that you have committed yourself in working towards development of children and therefore we would like to invite you to be a part of Bal Sunwai, to listen to the children’s concerns and to suggest the best, most constructive ways to deal with the problems shared by them.
The Hon’ble Chairpersons of National Commission of Minorities, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Hon’ble Mayor of EDMC have confirmed their esteemed presence as panelists
We invite you to amplify the voices of children, and to help them in raising their concerns in front of the people responsible for providing these rights to them. Your presence and support shall contribute immensely towards ensuring quality education for all the children for many years to come.
We look forward to your solidarity, participation, and confirmation for the BAL SUNWAI. It would greatly encourage the children who, for the first time, are willing to openly speak about violation of their own rights and are demanding a complete and speedy implementation of the RTE.
