Sacrifice comfort for better future of your children, advised Dr. Shakeel Samdani to parents while addressing an educational conference at Junior High School, Dheemakheda, Kashipur, Uttarakhand.

Dr. Samdani, a senior faculty of Aligarh Muslim University, said progress and development without education is almost impossible. He added that the difference between illiterate and educated is like the difference between dead and alive.

“A conspiracy was hatched to keep the Muslims away from education that’s why very few schools and colleges were opened in their areas,” observed Dr. Samdani.

“The Muslims who secured degrees were also denied jobs that’s why a sense of frustration developed in their minds.  Now the situation has changed and the Muslim boys and girls are trying their best to get higher education. They are getting jobs in private sector also.”

While highlighting significance of education, Prof. Saud Alam Qasmi, Dean Faculty of Theology at AMU, said that those communities who do not get education become the slaves of others.

“Education is the best way to achieve freedom. Quran advices the human beings to apply their minds to the nature and find the solutions of their problems,” added Qasmi.

K.C. Singh Baba, Nainital MP and chief gust of the conference, said that with the help of authentic religious books and intellectuals we can progress in this world.

“If the intellectuals join social and political field to lead the nation then the nation will progress more,” Mr. Baba noted.

Iqra Junior High School Manager Qari Ghulam Nabi said that it was a challenge for him to start the school in this remote area. He said it was possible with the help of the public. He also highlighted the need for an inter college for Muslim girls in the area.

In his presidential address, Maulana Aslam Javed Qasmi, Rampur said that such type of educational conferences should be organised in every district of Uttrakhand.
