Pune: The Association of Muslim Professionals hosted a very inspiring “Inter-school quiz competition” for the 9th std. in AZAM Campus premises, Pune considering the challenges regarding the education environment in the society and a proper direction for students.
To bring up all Urdu and Semi English Schools together to compete their knowledge and to encourage the students for such events was the main idea of this competition.
The chief guest was Munawar Peerbhai (Chairman, Haji Gulam Mohammad Azam Education trust), and special guests were Dawood Khan (INA foundation), Mujeebullah Khan (Retired Army Officer), Jameel Shaikh (Dist. Judge/Member of Co-op. Appellate Mumbai).
Prior to this, AMP has conducted test in 26 schools from 31st Dec 2013 to 2nd Jan 2014 and shortlisted group of 2 students from each school to perform in finale. The questions were consist of various categories including Islamic, History, Geography, English, Sports, Science, Current affairs and visual aptitude. In which 5 groups reached at final round including Urdu Girls School (Azam Campus), Iqra Urdu School (Dapodi), Lady Taherunnisa Urdu School (Yerwada), Anjuman-E-Islam Peer Mohammad Shool (Bund Garden), ANGLO Urdu Boys School (Azam Campus).
Chief Guest Munawar Peer bhai said before declaring the finale result that “The Team-AMP has done a wonderful job from the planning till the execution of such a big contest while managing their busy professional life. He would like to request all the school re-presenters to provide their encouraging support to Team-AMP when they visit their school to conduct different types of educational activities whilst encourage students to gain knowledge in different domains.” He further added in the motivation of Urdu medium schools, “Many times he has heard that the students who have studied in Urdu medium don’t have a bright future, however this completely wrong statement as he can see many people around him studied from the Urdu medium and occupied respected positions.”
While special guest Jameel Shaikh also commented in support of the Munawar Peerbhai that “AMP is doing great job for the community. In near future, if AMP is organizing lectures for students to gain knowledge about Indian constitution and laws then he would like to be a speaker.”
Finally, Sariya Ansari and Shaikh Ayesha from ANGLO Urdu Girls School has won the winner’s trophy with medals and gift vouchers, first runner up’s trophy with medals gift vouchers received by Shaikh Afreen and Saniya Sayyad from Anjuman-E-Islam Peer Mohammad School. And second runner up’s trophy with medals and gift vouchers received by Attar Bushra and Farheen Siddiqui from IQRA English School.
