Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) has inspired its students-cadre to embark on a journey to bring awareness among citizens about voting. A local unit of the organization here in Khairatabad mandal of Hyderabad visited localities to motivate voters to utilize their valuable vote to bring positive change in the society.

The First Lancer area and its vicinity saw a rally of students led under the banner of the Khairtabad unit of SIO. Youth turned out in sizeable numbers to display a glimpse of their responsibilities in the rally on Sunday.

One of the catchy lines on the banners and placards was: ‘Save your country, one vote can change the nation, be a responsible citizen, ensure that you vote, eliminate the corrupt, shun the liars’. Many other slogans exhorted viewers to be a part of the voting electorate.

Uzair Ahmed Khan, local unit president of SIO who led the rally, said they managed to reach around ten thousand people. He expressed the need for voters to turn out in large number to bring a positive change in the society.

Urging people to cast their vote at any cost, star campaigners Furquan Baig and Abdul Ghani stressed the need of unity among the voters in defeating corrupt, fascist and communal candidates.

Returning officer of Khairtabad mandal, DCP West Zone and other police authorities appreciated and ensured smooth conduct of the rally.

Earlier SIO organized signature campaigns in various parts of Khairtabad with the same motive of increasing voter turnout. Further plans include presentation of student manifestos to candidates of all parties.
