Put Criminals and Gangsters Behind Bars in UP – SIO National President

BeyondHeadlines News Desk

Incidents of gang rapes, murder and other atrocities on the women are increasing throughout the nation. The recent incidents in Badaun (UP) and Barmer (Rajasthan) are just examples. The people and the law and order especially in the State of UP are in deep trouble, said National President of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Ashfaq Ahmed, while referring to the increasing incidents of gang rapes across the country in general and recent gang rape and murder of two minor sisters of Badaun in particular.

He said that the Human Rights and Women Rights groups have sufficiently raised their voice against this recent cruelty. SIO is working too shoulder to shoulder with organizations involved in this struggle for justice and security of human lives. SIO feels that embers of oppression and crimes have been glaring and stoked throughout the State UP as police officials and security officials, instead of maintaining the law and order, are assisting the criminal gangs and those involved in crimes against women.

The incidents of crimes against women have escalated in the last ten days following the Modi forming the government and taking power at the Centre. One of the reasons cited in this regard is also the lack of toilet facilities in the village homes and rural areas. While the State government is propagating a dream of hi-tech UP, its neglect of domestic sanitation drives and lack of public and private toilet facilities is to be taken as a question on the civilized society. The domestic and farm workers are much more at the receiving end of the height of these brutalities.
SIO demands the UP State government to strictly punish the officials involved in the crimes in recent reports and reinstate the law and order across the districts. It also urges the State government to put the goons and criminals behind the bars. CBI enquiry of each of the recent crimes against women and unsolved murder cases should also be initiated and safety of women, girls and children be ensured.
