Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the Republic Day on 26 January 2015, enhanced security measures have been instituted in areas around sensitive military establishments located in and around Pune City. The aim of these endeavors is to prevent and negate any threat to these vital institutions during this period and enhance public safety in these areas.
The security measures will entail increased access control measures, increased patrolling and random checks to establish and verify identities of people transiting through these areas. These checks will also be extended to vehicles which are found to be parked in a suspicious manner, especially in areas which are not designated explicitly for parking.
Instructions have been issued to ensure that citizens are least inconvenienced during such checks.
It may be appreciated that the security of important military establishments in the city, especially during such sensitive periods of time, needs to be executed in cooperation with the citizens. Cooperation of the citizenry is hence requested to ensure security of these vital military establishments and public safety.
