The Southern Command RAID-DE-GHATS Advance Mountain Biking Expedition is being organized under the aegis of The Bombay Engineer Group & Centre, Kirkee, Pune from 07 Feb to 09 Feb 2015 for the period of 03 days.
The team led by Lt Gen K Surendranath, consists of 54 Officers, 08 JCOs and 40 OR from Southern Command of the Indian Army will participate in the expedition. The cyclists will cover a route of 305 Kms from NDA Chandni Chowk -Lavasa – Torna Fort – Khariv and back.
The cyclists will ride though the most treacherous terrain of altitudes above 2000 Ft, with unpredictable weather conditions. The participants will also be creating awareness about ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ of Govt of India. The eco-friendly expedition will also give opportunity to interact with the ex-servicemen settled in the area.
RAID-DE-GHATS expedition will bring out the passion for adventure and is a tribute to the very essence of indomitable Army spirit. The expedition will be flagged off by Brig Anurag Bhasin, Commandant, BEG & Centre.
