MLA Imtiaz Jaleel Raises Issue of Reservation, Cow Slaughter and Dr. Ambedkar Memorial in Assembly

BeyondHeadlines Correspondent

Mumbai:  MIM Aurangabad MLA Imtiaz Jaleel on Thursday raised the issue of Muslim reservation and ban on cow slaughter. He also criticised the Congress-NCP previous govt. and the present BJP-Sena Govt. for dilly dallying on the issue of building a memorial at Indu mill land in Mumbai.

Replying to the governor’s address to the joint session of the state legislature, Imtiaz Jaleel urged the government to reconsider its ban on cow slaughter which has rendered lakhs of people jobless. He said if the govt. is serious to care for the society then they should put a ban on liquor sale in the state. ‘You ban liquor in Gujarat and in bapu’s wardha but allows the poison to be sold elsewhere in the state’.

He informed the house about the plight of the 14 month old girl undergoing treatment at the govt. medical hospital in Aurangabad after she was raped by a 50 year old alcoholic neighbor in ghansawangi village.

Imtiaz also told the house that the Mumbai high court had considered circumstantial evidence of the education backwardness of the cumin unity and retained the 5 PC reservation for Muslims in education. He informed that whatever the govt. has been doing is contrary to what it has been saying of sab ka Saath sab ka Vikas.

He also demanded that the govt. should also come out clear on Wakf properties that are being usurped.

Imtiaz also criticised the govt. for not being serious in building the memorial in the name of the country’s tallest ever leader Baba Saheb Ambekar. ‘The previous govt. of Congress and NCP had absolute majority in state and centre but they did not do anything and even the present govt. intentions are not clear. It’s a decision that could be taken in just a day time.’
