Pune : Pune Expat Club had organized a special ‘Ganesh Festival Walk’ for its members  in association with Incredible India. The participants, a mix of French, British, Scottish, American and German nationals assembled at Shaniwar wada where they were informed about the story that led to Lord Ganesha’s origin and also the background of the festival.

Going with the festive mood, everyone wore ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ caps and marched towards Kasba Ganpati, the oldest Ganpati of Pune, finding their way through the by lanes of the old city, expats continued the walk and paid their respect to some of the important Ganesh idols of the city like Bhau Rangari Ganpati, Jogeshwari Ganpati, Guruji Talim Ganpati, Tulshi Baug Ganpati, Dagdu Seth Ganpati, Babu Genu Ganpati, Mandai Ganpati to name a few.

However, it wasn’t just Lord Ganesh or the larger than life decors of the pandals but also a visit to the home of freedom fighter Bhau Rangari who transformed the annual domestic festival into a public event, shopping with best bargains at the local Tulshi Baug market, the stacks of local fresh produce at Mandai that made the walk wholesome and more eventful.
