New Delhi : A workshop on Aspects of Hinduism was jointly organized by Department of Sanskrit, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Center for Relations and International Affairs, Islamic Seminary of the holy city of Qom, Iran. This 8-day workshop was started on August 27, 2018 and ended this week.

The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Wahajuddin Alvi, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Languages, JMI. Addressing to the participants, Key Note Speaker, Prof. Dipti Tripathi, Former Director, National Mission for Manuscripts (Govt. of India), emphasised the extent of Hinduism. She said, “Hinduism is an inner experience; it is the experience of the soul. Hinduism is not a religion. It is the name of a culture: a self-disciplined, spiritual culture.”

The Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Mr. A.P. Siddiqui was the Chief Guest of this session.

Prof. Dipti Tripathi, Dr. Dhananjay Mani Tripathi, Prof. Heeraman Tiwari, Dr. Subasini Barik,  Dr. Abhay Kumar Shandilya Dr. Balram Shukla were the key resource persons of this eight day workshop.

Dr.  Sayed Mofid Hosseini Kuhsari, Head, Center for International Relations & Affairs, Islamic Seminary of Qom, Iran was the guest of honour at the Valedictory Session. Prof. Devendra Mishra, Former Head, Department of Sanskrit, University of Delhi gave the valedictory address.
