Ahmednagar: The family members of late Waqf activist Tauseef Shaikh have sent a petition to the President of India Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking their permission for voluntary death in protest against callous attitude of Ahmednagar District Collector Officials and Ahmednagar Police in giving them justice.
The family members have been fighting for justice for their son Tauseef who committed suicide after being forced to do so by the corrupt Waqf crime syndicate of Karjat backed by revenue department, land records department, top officers of district collector office, Ahmednagar Police and other hidden agents, lawyers and middlemen including influential politicians who all have illegally sold Rs 1000 crore Dawal Malik Waqf Land which is spread more than in 100 acres of land.
The family members and waqf activists say that the land must be used to build a multi speciality Hospital and Rural University for all the communities of Karjat as a mark of respect to the late RTI activist.
Tauseef set himself on fire on Dec 20, 2018 in front of the district magistrate’s office at Ahmednagar in Maharashtra seeking removal of encroachments and died while taking treatment the next day. He had suffered around 80 per cent burns in the incident, died during treatment at Sassoon General Hospital in Pune city Following the incident, the state government has formed a three-member committee to inquire into his death.
Shaikh was demanding removal of encroachments on the Rs 1000 crore land belonging to Peer Daval Malik temple trust at Karjat, 50 km from the historic town of Ahmednagar.
A number of political parties and legislators had demanded strict action against the land syndicate. Citizens, friends of Tauseef and RTI activist fighting for justice in Karjat have complained to the Prime Minister’s Office that the mafia was allegedly planning to kill the justice seeking innocent citizens of Karjat and demanded they be booked under MCOCA, UAPA and other stringent laws for their terrorist activities.
Father Hashim Shaikh severely criticized the district administration and said that the three member report prepared by the government was a document crafted by the dangerous and anti-national waqf mafia of Karjat which was one of most dangerous crime syndicates operating in the state of Maharashtra.
They also say that the administration has blamed the victims for the incident when the criminals sitting in chairs in revenue, land records, police, district administration and political elected posts were roaming free in Karjat.
The family said that the report was one sided and was prepared for the waqf mafia allegedly by the mafia elements present in the local government and said that Karjat had become one of the crime talukas of India.
Father Hashim, mother Anwar and wife Farida have demanded CBI and CID probe into the case. They said that district collector and SP were directly responsible for what happened and victims must not be made accused in the case and waqf mafia connected with underworld must be arrested.
Activists across India have termed Tauseef’s death as a state sponsored murder. Tehreek-e-Aukaf and State Waqf Federation have complained to judicial and presidents office seeking arrest of all the officials involved in protecting the hidden waqf mafia.The parents have also written to Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi requesting him to raise the issue in Lok Sabha.
