Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi’s Political Punches Make Narendra Modi’s Political Teeth Fall to Ground in Telangana; Sends Daru Master KCR Packing to Farmhouse

The hardcore and divisive Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi’s political teeth fell to the ground in Telangana after a flurry of political punches from Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi during campaigning. The so-called Hindu Hruday Samraat is licking his wounds as the grand old party Congress strode back to power after ten years. The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader and a leading Daru Master, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, is sent to his farmhouse after a humiliating defeat due to corruption and arrogance of power. Ruling Telangana, the youngest state in India, under the influence of country liquor (Daru), KCR made himself inaccessible to the common man and even to his party legislators. KCR’s daughter, K. Kavitha, also washed her hands in the flowing Ganga of alleged corruption in a liquor scam. The Davos-sprinting man, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), was allegedly minting money through deals in Davos and Dubai. The Kala Sach (black truth) of mammoth corruption in Kaleshwaram dam made the people lose their patience with the KCR government.

The Mullas of the Muslim United Front (MUF), the Jamaat-e-Islami, and the two factions of Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind were consigned to the dustbin as their licking of BRS was rejected by the Muslims of the Telangana State. The Mullas of Sufis, Salafis, Deobandis, Shias, Mehdavis, etc. were all found naked (by the voters) in the political bathroom of Pragati Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s Camp office, making deals to compromise the interests of the Muslim community.

The hate brigade of the BJP—Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Adityanath—and the lesser-known vitriolic political rats—Hemanta Biswa Sarma and Devendra Fadnavis—came out of their holes to bite the BRS in some pockets. The BJP could not even cross 15 seats. The communal and divisive agenda, the eternal threats to take away the four percent reservations given to economically and socially backward Muslims, threats to rename Hyderabad City as the so-called Bhagyanagar and the badmouthing of the Glorious Nizams did not cut ice with the wise voters of Telangana. But the saffron poison has spread. It is no longer a serpent! The secular forces need to be strengthened before the next Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury observed: “We understood that a big change was going to come, and that is what is happening. People were tired of BRS. BJP and BRS are one; everyone has understood it. They also understand the dangerous role that the AIMIM played. I think the AIMIM and Owaisi have suffered the biggest loss in this game. People understood the truth behind the wrong step he took at the national level. It is unfortunate because I had always considered him to be an intelligent man. No force in the country can stand against us when Congress contests unitedly.” Renuka had reason to be elated, as the Congress and its ally, the Communist Party of India (CPI), were leading in nine seats and one seat, respectively, in Khammam.

The ‘BJP Rishtedaar Samiti’ (BRS) was used and dumped by the BJP. The BRS sailed with the BJP, starting with demonetization and ending with all anti-Muslim laws passed in Parliament. The Muslims were solidly behind KCR in 2014 and 2018, but KCR not only stabbed them in the back with support for the BJP but also destroyed and usurped Waqf lands. No economic empowerment of Muslims was taken up. Dalits were stranded midway with the Dalit Bandhu. Those Dalits who did not get any loans were sulking and waiting to give shock treatment to the KCR government.

The BJP coming to power in Madhya Pradesh is a sign of Shivraj Singh’s rise to prominence in the BJP at the cost of Modi. It was Vasundhara Raje’s show in Rajasthan and the local BJP leaders’ hard work in Chhatisgarh. Narendra Modi had no role in the victory of the BJP.

Congress must stay united, and there should be no musical chairs for the chief ministership. A secular leader, not an RSS poison-tainted leader, should be chosen as the Chief Minister. Congressmen are like political prostitutes willing to sell themselves for a price easily. Seven of them elected on the Congress ticket later preferred to be KCR’s bedfellows after the 2018 elections. BRS must be kept on a tight leash by the Election Commission (EC) and the Telangana Police to thwart any attempts at poaching the newly elected legislators from the Congress. Any steps to destabilize the Congress government in Telangana may infuriate the voters enough to punish the BRS more in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Sonia Gandhi could not have gotten a better birthday gift on December 9 than a Congress government in Telangana.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi Exposes Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s Saffron Yearning, Double Dealing!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Exposes Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s Saffron Yearning, Double Dealing!

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, let the cat out of the bag this time in Telangana. While campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi exposed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s (KCR) yearning for the saffron to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Modi also disclosed that KCR pleaded for an alliance in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation after the BJP’s stellar performance of bagging 48 seats. The shrewd Modi did not fall into KCR’s trap. He used him to get important bills cleared in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Thereafter, Modi discarded him like tissue paper! Both the Chandra—Sekhar and Babu were eclipsed in the Telugu states.

Double dealings between politicians are nothing new. But KCR’s double dealings with the saffron and the green at the same time make him vulnerable just before the Telangana Assembly polls. Muslims who fell for KCR’s false promises in the 2014 and 2018 elections and voted overwhelmingly for KCR’s party feel cheated and taken for a ride. The Muslim reaction can be calculated from the fall in percentage of votes to the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in the upcoming polls. Though KCR’s brazen anti-Muslim stance of voting against Muslim interests on Triple Talaq, Article 370, and other issues was known to Muslims, the sudden expose by Narendra Modi will surely make the Muslims ponder their next political move if they are not to be completely marginalized.

K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), the energetic son of KCR, tried to douse the Modi-lit fire by saying that BRS was not bitten by a mad dog to join the NDA. Why should the poor mad dog be dragged into a clear case of saffron yearning and political backstabbing of Muslims? It may be recalled that I disclosed in my earlier column here that Narendra Modi had questioned KCR as to why he called him (Modi) a fascist. Such was the stare and scare of Modi that KCR reportedly got up from his seat, shivering and apologizing profusely with a bowed head. It is said that this made Modi laugh and gave a message that at least KCR will not be able to take him on at the national level. The BJP government at the center has not helped Telangana even during floods. The promised Turmeric Board never came until yet another announcement yesterday. The voters are waiting to apply chili in the BJP’s political eyes. Announcing ‘development schemes’ before the polls is just a gimmick, or, as some say, a form of bribery.

The BRS has already announced its list of candidates and went through political ethnic cleansing of Muslims with tokenism. With no sight of a Muslim legislator from BRS making it to the new Assembly out of the three musketeers, Muslims may have started mulling their alternatives rather than going after their ‘Naktey Mamu’ whose political nose is bleeding after Modi’s punch at a political rally. Muslims in Telangana have been eating in their houses with their hard-earned money but taking Mamu’s goats for shepherding. They did it in 2014 and in 2018, plus the Lok Sabha polls. But for how long?

‘Ghar ka Khaake Mamu k Bakriyan Chararain! Wo bhi, Aise Naktey Mamu ke!’

  • Police Commissioners in Telangana Must Emulate Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand’s Laudable Police Adalat Initiative to Maintain Peace

Police Commissioners in Telangana Must Emulate Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand’s Laudable Police Adalat Initiative to Maintain Peace

Hyderabad is a ‘happening’ city with people coming from all over India for jobs and businesses. Many multinational companies esp. in the Information Technology and Pharma sectors are setting up shops in the city. Thanks to the energetic Minister for Information Technology (IT) and Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao (KTR), the World Economic Forum (WEF) is going to set up its first India Centre in the city. Naturally, the focus will be on peace, security, and law and order. None is better than C V Anand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, to handle the challenging job of putting Hyderabad on the world map in terms of peace and security! Anand started the laudable first-ever Police Adalat initiative in December last year to maintain ‘peace and good behaviour.’

Thinking out of the box to maintain peace and control murders esp. related to the booming real estate, C V Anand, Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate (Executive), Hyderabad Police Commissionerate held the first-ever court at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad (ICCC) buildings, Road No.12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on 9th December 2022. He examined the information placed before him by the Station House Officer SHO), Rein Bazar Police Station (PS) that there is a dispute between two groups, one led by Mohd. Abdul Basith and 4 others and another group led by Mohd. Abdul Rawoof, an alleged rowdy sheeter of the Rein Bazar Police Station. The said parties are involved in a dispute over a house property located on 500 Square Yards of land in Yakut Pura, Hyderabad. The said property belongs to the late Smt. Sandhya, who died in 1996, leaving behind her husband.

The Additional District Magistrate (Executive) C V Anand heard the presentation of case facts by the SHO, Rein Bazaar PS. He also heard the versions of the rival parties. Thereafter, he ordered each of them to execute a bond for an amount of Rs. 25,000/- with two sureties and adjourned the matter.

With the powers conferred under the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr. P C),  C V Anand, the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad as Additional Executive Magistrate has made a beginning to implement the 107 Cr P C proceedings for the first time in Hyderabad Police Commissionerate. The aims are to maintain peace and good behavior in the city.

The police officers should note that the 107 Cr PC is a very effective tool to control the rival groups who disturb public peace. The power of the executive magistrate bestowed upon the Police Commissioner can be used in an effective manner to ensure peace in volatile areas. C V Anand has already resolved to use these powers which would be used to curb illegal and unlawful activities of rowdies, musclemen, dangerous gangs, and warring gangs in the future also. More such gangs indulging in criminal group rivalry and assaults, hot-headed groups fighting over religious places, over prime lands, and properties will be bound over in the future by the Hyderabad City Police under C V Anand.

Before starting the proceedings, the police collect evidence from persons acquainted with the circumstances of the case, the specific occasion on which the breach of the peace is anticipated or the existence of circumstances that are likely to lead to the breach of peace. If any person or group commits an act that results in disturbing the peace and public tranquility in the area, they can be bound over under section 107 Cr P C. They would be directed to execute bonds to keep the peace in their area.

It is disappointing to note that the lack of background checks on real estate agents by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TSRERA) is allowing goons to join the real estate business without any accountability in cases of cheating. The police officials are aware that such criminal elements posing as real estate agents and companies elements have been cheating the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and gullible businessmen with fake and bogus deals. Either the anti-social elements and goons themselves get into illegal land dealings or they are hired by land-grabbers who target prime land parcels and properties with weak owners, widows, childless couples, and NRIs.

Let me draw attention to the fact that many recent murders have been linked to real estate deals gone awry. The grudges and heartburns over the commission on land transactions also contribute to murders. These real estate-linked murders are happening all over the Telangana State but increasing in number in Hyderabad. It may be recalled that Home Minister M Mahmood Ali had expressed his anguish at the growing murders. He pointed out that there were 26 murders in the Chandrayangutta area alone. Inquiries reveal that many murders are linked to real estate disputes. I say with full responsibility that C V Anand is vigilant. I would beef up my argument by recalling that the proactive Commissioner C V Anand checks the Dial 100 number from time to time to see if it is working and how quickly the police personnel respond to any call on Dial 100. Last year, he dialed 100 and complained about loud music playing at late night. The Dial 100 cops responded but came to know to their surprise and amusement that Police Commissioner C V Anand had called. He keeps his men on their toes!

I would suggest to the vigilant Police Commissioner C V Anand to roll up his sleeves, increase police patrolling in the area, keep cameras functional, and bring the anticipated criminals and culprits before the Police Adalat to bind them. I hope C V Anand is reading this report to take the suggestions in a positive way and improve policing in crime-prone areas. It is Hyderabad’s good fortune to get Kotwals or Commissioners like Pavithran, Ashwani Kumar and C V Anand who tread in the illustrious footsteps of Hyderabad’s famous Kotwal Sahab Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy, who served during the time of His Exalted Highness (HEH) the Nizam VII Mir Osman Ali Siddiqui Khan Bahadur. I would urge the Hon’ble Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to direct all the Police Commissioners across cities in Telangana for the implementation of Commissioner C V Anand’s Police Adalat initiative. Investments would come to Bangaru  Telangana only when peace and harmony prevail in good measure!

  • Telangana Police Successfully Solve Murder by Injection Case; Paramour Mohan Rao, Victim Sheikh Jamal’s Wife Imam Bee, 2 Others Arrested

Telangana Police Successfully Solve Murder by Injection Case; Paramour Mohan Rao, Victim Sheikh Jamal’s Wife Imam Bee, 2 Others Arrested

The Telangana Police successfully solved the murder by injection case from Khammam district in three days flat and arrested the accused on Wednesday. The energetic and smart Commissioner of Police Khammam had formed 4 police teams to crack the case and bring the guilty to book.

The case seems to be like a Bollywood’s incredible crime plot brought to life on large screens. The victim Sheikh Jamal, 55, was traveling on a bike to Gandrai in the neighboring state Andhra Pradesh to meet his daughter. On the way, Jamal is hailed for a lift by a man wearing a monkey cap. Kindness overtook Jamal and he agreed to give a lift to the stranger. After going some distance, the pillion rider springs to action stabs Jamal with a poisonous injection, and runs away from the place. Jamal stops his bike and informs about the incident to the farmers working in nearby fields. He is taken to the nearest primary health care center. Jamal collapses while his vital signs are checked. He is pronounced dead.

It was almost a dead end to investigate this one of its kind case for the Khammam police. The stretch of the road is a rural area and there are no cameras to get any clues or any footage of the incident. The victim’s wife Imam Bee was questioned. Chilling details came out of the investigation by the police. It is alleged that Imam Bee and the alleged murderer Mohan Rao have illicit relations. Imam Bee is reported to have arranged the poisonous injection from RMP Dr.Venkat. She waited for two months to give the lethal injection to her husband but in vain. A conspiracy was then allegedly hatched. The stranger who asked for a lift from Jamal and stabbed him with the killer injection turned out to be none other than the paramour Mohan Rao. A tractor driver Venkatesh is also arrested for alleged involvement in the case.

The local people are stunned after the damning revelations. They urged the police should get to the bottom of the case and unearth the conspiracy behind the murder. They demanded that the police should expose the trafficking gangs and their lords behind Mohan Rao and others. Some people demanded that the right-wing extremists engaged in luring young Muslim girls and even married Muslim women should be exposed and punished sternly by law.

It cannot be ruled out that this is not the case of Dharam Yudh Prem. The so-called Love Jihad bogey is not present in our country but some states have enacted stringent laws to trap the Muslim youth into false cases. With the increasing number of Dharam Yudh Prem cases, there is a need for a Central deterrent anti-Dharam Yudh Prem Law without bail for at least ten years. A right-wing political party is hell-bent on creating riots and polarizing society in the southern states going to the Legislative Assembly polls soon.

The silver lining is that the mature and wise people of the southern states understand this conspiracy to disturb peace and harmony.

  • CM KCR to Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay: You Try to Step into my Farmhouse, You’ll be Torn into 6 Pieces!

CM KCR to Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay: You Try to Step into my Farmhouse, You’ll be Torn into 6 Pieces!

The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is a very busy man these days. He seems to be like an Anatomy professor or a surgeon talking about cutting and chopping human body parts. But those in the discourse are not his students. They are bitter political foes of KCR and new-found rustic enemies from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

KCR held a second consecutive media conference on Monday evening. He responded to State BJP president Bandi Sanjay’s comments to the media men earlier in the afternoon. Referring to Bandi Sanjay’s threats to plough and even seize his farmhouse, KCR menacingly thundered, “Why do you want to plough my farmhouse, I’ve done nothing wrong. Lets’ see you try to step into my farmhouse, you’ll be torn into 6 pieces”. However, KCR did not disclose to which instrument or weapon he would use to cut Bandi Sanjay into 6 pieces. It is not known whether KCR himself will carry out the act or outsource it to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)’s in-house butcher Mohammed Saleem, MLC, from the Qureshi butcher community. KCR did not mention the venue too. Whether it will be the Chief Minister’s Camp Office at Pragathi Bhavan or the Ziaguda Slaughter House will purely be a matter of fancied conjecture. Presently, KCR believes in even-handed response and giving out even numbers saying that he would cut Bandi Sanjay’s tongue into 4 pieces and also cut his body into 6 pieces. I hope numerologist Sanjay Jumani can shed light on these even numbers 4 and 6 and its impact on Telangana’s political landscape. KCR believes in Vaastu and Muhurthams but the exact day and time were also not revealed by KCR. Is he in the process of consulting his astrologers?

The embattled Chief Minister blasted the Union government for a second consecutive day. He sought clear-cut answers on whether the Union government will procure paddy from Telangana, and whether it will reduce cess on fuel, stating that he will continue to hold a press conference every day until these issues are sorted out by the Modi government. It may be recalled that on Sunday, November 7, while addressing the media over these issues, KCR had lambasted Bandi Sanjay Kumar for encouraging farmers in Telangana to cultivate paddy this Rabi season. Bandi Sanjay had announced that the state BJP would protest against the TRS government for discouraging farmers from cultivating paddy in Telangana. KCR has claimed that the problem lies with the central government, which is not willing to procure paddy from the state. On Sunday, KCR alleged that Telangana BJP leaders including Bandi Sanjay were indulging in loose talk and warned that “we will cut your tongue into 4 pieces.” Both the warring politicians accused each other of lying about the fuel price issue and paddy procurement. Sanjay alleged that the chief minister was creating more problems for farmers by preventing them from growing paddy and cotton. KCR, on the other hand, suggested and insisted that farmers grow cotton this Rabi season instead of paddy.

Responding to these allegations, Bandi Sanjay claimed that KCR was lying about the central government refusing to procure paddy. He went on to claim that, “The Food Corporation of India (FCI) wrote to the state government that paddy will be procured between October 21 and January 21.” He also demanded KCR to show evidence that farmers cultivated paddy on 62 lakh acres in the state. KCR challenged by saying he was ready to take BJP leaders around the state in helicopters and prove his claim. “They say we don’t really have 62 lakh acres of paddy cultivation. How else do we interpret this attitude, other than that they’re trying to evade (paddy) procurement,” he faulted the BJP.

Earlier in the press meet on Sunday, KCR had observed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was failing in preventing China from occupying India’s land near the border in Arunachal Pradesh. Demanding KCR’s resignation and his apology to the nation, Bandi Sanjay on Monday alleged that KCR’s comments were in support of China and demoralised our soldiers on the Indo-China border. Stung by the abuse that he was a ‘traitor’ and in retaliation, KCR on Monday lamented that anyone who questioned the BJP government is being branded as anti-national and a traitor. “When we supported the NDA, we were not called anti-nationals.  When they asked for our (TRS) support for their Bills in parliament, we weren’t called anti-nationals. But anyone who questions the Union government, or speaks the truth, is branded as an anti-national or Urban Naxal,” KCR taunted the BJP. “I just said Chinese occupation in Arunachal Pradesh must be stopped, how is that anti-national?” questioned an agitated KCR.

KCR charged that the BJP had been gaining power in states like Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh undemocratically and not through people’s mandate. “Even if people choose someone else, BJP is undemocratically bringing down the government and ruling. Isn’t that undemocratic?” KCR queried. Pointing out that the BJP’s approach was to brand critics anti-national, and then carry out raids by the Income Tax department or Enforcement Directorate, KCR said that he was not afraid of any such raids. He dared Modi to send the raiders.

While putting Bandi Sanjay in the dog house for using objectionable language against him, KCR said that the opposition (Sanjay and D Aravind both BJP MPs) have made personal remarks on his appearance and drinking habits in an objectionable way. Why does KCR forget that the followers of Narendra Modi with a sharp and abusive tongue cannot be different from him? KCR should procure video copies of Modi abusing Muslims and also his political opponents.

KCR has demanded that the central government remove cess on petrol and diesel. He termed it unfair to ask states to reduce the VAT on their end. Bandi Sanjay on the other hand is fooling the masses that Telangana has the second-highest VAT rate on fuel after Rajasthan. “For every liter of petrol, the central government gets Rs. 27 while the State gets Rs. 28. And from Rs. 27 which the central government gets, the State receives Rs. 12,” he said. KCR mocked these claims, and he sought to impress that the TRS government has barely increased the VAT in the past seven years.

KCR reminded Modi that he had supported the BJP in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha when important bills had to be passed (including anti-Muslim bills). Perhaps, a Betaab (uneasy) KCR is lamenting now and asking Modi like Sunny Deol:

Apne dil se badi dushmani ki I became the enemy of my heart
Kis liye maine tum se dosti ki? Why did I befriend you?
Apne dil se badi dushmani ki I became the enemy of my heart
Kis liye maine tum se dosti ki? Why did I befriend you?
  • Telangana CM KCR Warns State BJP Leaders: ‘We Will Cut Your Tongue into Four Pieces!’

Telangana CM KCR Warns State BJP Leaders: ‘We Will Cut Your Tongue into Four Pieces!’

Politicians are like loose canons. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is no different! Smarting from a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Huzurabad Legislative Assembly seat last Sunday, KCR, who usually presents a calm demeanour, lost his cool at the State BJP leaders and warned them thus:

“For your petty politics, with your stinky mouth, you’re talking as you wish. We will cut your tongue into four pieces. KCR will not tolerate if you speak against the people of Telangana. I won’t mind if you abuse me, but if you wish to cheat the farmers of Telangana and destroy the state’s economy, we will not allow this,” KCR warned Telangana State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar. However, KCR did not disclose as to what he will do with those four pieces of the tongue, Whether the four pieces of the tongue will be preserved in a communal museum or gifted to a Nathuram Godse Memorial.

Postcard of a Woman Having Her Tongue Cut Off. ca. 1900-1930, Postcard of a Woman Having Her Tongue Cut Off

KCR slammed the state BJP leaders who announced agitational programs against the TRS government for discouraging farmers not to go for paddy cultivation this Rabi season. He blamed the Union government, which is not willing to procure paddy from the state. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Sunday evening, KCR claimed that the ruling TRS government has not increased VAT on petroleum products and the question of reduction does not arise. “The cess on petrol and diesel should be withdrawn. We will not allow you to rest (until the NDA government does that). The entire paddy grown in Telangana should be procured by the Union government. The state BJP leaders should stop making hollow statements. They need to make the Union government agree to this and get orders accordingly,” KCR demanded.  Alleging that the Telangana BJP leaders are claiming they would file cases against him and send him to prison, KCR dared the leaders to touch him! KCR seems to be rattled by the corruption charges as he has seen the fate of the opposition leaders, who went against the wishes and command of BJP leader Narendra Modi, on whose tune the CBI, ED, Income Tax Department, and other central agencies dance.

KCR claimed that though the international crude prices are still hovering at a lower range, the Union government in the name of cess inflated the fuel prices, thereby burdening the common man. According to KCR, the international prices of petrol never touched USD 105 per barrel after 2014. Despite this, the Central government increased the prices.

“We have not hiked VAT. We have not increased even a paisa so the question of reduction does not arise. Ever since the TRS government was formed, VAT has not been increased. Which fool will ask us to decrease (VAT)? The fool who increased it will have to reduce it,” thundered the Chief Minister.

“I am demanding the government of India to remove the total cess levied on petrol and diesel. It is possible and it is for the benefit of the country. Without any increase in crude oil prices in the international market, the government has unnecessarily levied the cess on petrol and diesel, burdening the poor and middle-class people. Now, if the government is sincere towards the poor people of the country, it should withdraw the total cess” roared KCR.

We will continue to fight. We will hold dharna for withdrawing cess on petrol and diesel, he disclosed. “These people are lying about the international (crude) prices. They are imposing cess so that it would not come under the divisible pool. It is burdening the common people. They are evading states devolution,” the Chief Minister charged at the Modi government.

Earlier on Saturday, Telangana BJP president B Sanjay Kumar announced that the BJP would take up agitational programs to ensure the state government also reduces the VAT. He also demanded that the state government should buy paddy from farmers. “Delhi BJP says one thing and the silly BJP (state unit) says another thing. Which is correct?” KCR demanded to know.

It may be recalled that, for the past several days, the Telangana government has been requesting the farmers not to go for paddy cultivation this season as the Union government is reluctant to buy the commodity. We will raise the issue (paddy procurement) in Parliament. We will also hold dharnas in districts. If the need arises MPs, MLAs, MLCs from Telangana, including Chief Minister, will hold a dharna in Delhi, KCR warned.

The Chief Minister KCR recalled that the Telangana Agriculture Minister requested farmers to give up paddy cultivation in view of the Union government’s lackadaisical attitude to procure paddy. KCR expressed solidarity and clearly said that his party would also support farmers’ agitation in the north and would not allow the Union government to rest until those ‘anti-farm laws’ (three new agricultural laws) are withdrawn by the Modi government.

When KCR visits Delhi, bows to Narendra Modi and complains about the State BJP leaders, Modi reminds him through Mohammed Rafi’s soulful melody that the entire nation knows about the bonhomie between Modi and KCR:

    Aajkal tere mere pyar ke

    Charche har Zubaan par

    Sab ko maloom hai aur

    Sabko khabar ho gayi!

  • Will ‘Eat’ala Rajender’s ‘Ghotalaa’ Come to Bite BJP in Telangana?

Will ‘Eat’ala Rajender’s ‘Ghotalaa’ Come to Bite BJP in Telangana?

It seems it is going to be a hot monsoon in Telangana. It may be hot politically in the days to come. Telangana State’s Health Minister ‘Eat’ala Rajender’s political health suffered and he was unceremoniously kicked out by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) from the State cabinet after KCR received reports of land encroachment by a hatcheries company belonging to Jamuna, wife of Rajender. The pint-sized political dynamite Rajender denied the charges and dared to take on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) founder president K. Chandrasekhar Rao by leveling counter-allegations against KCR of many misdoings in the past seven years.

Rajender is playing the victim card. He does not answer why he remained silent for all these years and chose to attack KCR only after his fallout from KCR’s grace. He resigned from the Telangana State Legislative Assembly on Monday paving the way for a bypoll in his Huzurabad Assembly Constituency. Before this, he hobnobbed with political animals of various hues to look out for greener pastures. Ultimately, Rajender bared his saffron underwear and went to Delhi, where he was grilled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command about his alleged ‘misdeeds.’ Rajender reportedly tried to make a hard bargain like protection from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other central agencies. He also reportedly pleaded for a berth in the central cabinet and to make him the BJP’s chief ministerial aspirant for the next Assembly polls in Telangana. He pestered the BJP leadership for Z plus security for him. He is reportedly assured of a Y category security.

After burning its hands in West Bengal with the Suvendu Adhikari experience, the BJP is extremely cautious in pitting Rajender against KCR, whose TRS has supported the Narendra Modi government during voting in the passing of many Bills. The BJP is not sure of the explosive potential of the little dynamite Rajender. After the municipal polls to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), KCR met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reportedly bowed before him seeking not to disturb his government in Telangana State. Since then, he has been making all the right noises for the BJP. KCR did not appoint a single Muslim as a member of the reorganized Telangana State Public Service Commission. He did not appoint a single Muslim as vice-chancellor among the recently appointed vice-chancellors in the state. KCR is also keeping his options open of going with the BJP in the next Assembly polls. But that is for the future if he can politically crush his follower-turned-foe Eatala Rajender.

The BJP wants to test the fire power of Eatala Rajender, who is trying to project himself as the leader of the backward classes and other lower castes in Hindu society. The question is: Will ‘Eat’ala Rajender’s Ghotala (land scam) come to bite the BJP in Telangana?

  • Laying of Foundation for Mosque at Telangana Secretariat on 26 February 2021

Laying of Foundation for Mosque at Telangana Secretariat on 26 February 2021

The laying of the foundation for a mosque at the Telangana State Secretariat is slated for 26th February 2021 at 4 p.m. The All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) legislators Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri and Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Balala along with a delegation of the Muslim religious leaders called on a team of ministers – Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Minister for Minorities K. Eashwar, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav. At the meeting, it was decided to hold the foundation laying ceremony on the above-mentioned date.

It may be recalled that two mosques were damaged and later pulled down during the dismantling of the State Secretariat to cater to the whims and fancies of the Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s superstitions to build a Vastu-compliant Secretariat. A temple was also damaged, which is also to be re-built. The original plan was to rebuild the religious structures with the foundation ceremony to be held in October 2020. Hyderabad was ravaged by a huge deluge and later elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) were held. The deluge and the elections delayed the foundation laying ceremony.

The Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had asked AIMIM Floor Leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi to submit a plan for the proposed new mosque. The plan was submitted to the government. A copy of the plan and a picture of the proposed mosque can be seen here. The mosque will also contain the residential quarters of the Imam and Muezzin of the mosque. After the construction of the mosque, it will be handed over to the Telangana State Waqf Board.

It remains to be seen if the KCR Government lives up to its delayed promise of reconstructing the places of religious worship. The delay has caused apprehensions in the mind of the general public in Hyderabad.

2-Week Ultimatum for KCR Government to Reconstruct Demolished Mosques at Secretariat or Handover Land to Muslims at Same Sites; State Wide Agitation Planned by Muslim Organisations

A meeting of Muslim Personal Law Board members, Muslim scholars, and representatives of Muslim organizations was held in Hyderabad. The meeting presided by former judge of Supreme Court, Justice Syed Shah Mohammed Quadri, on Sunday, August 16th at Darul Uloom, decided to give a 2-week ultimatum to K. Chandrasekhar Rao Government in Telangana to reconstruct the demolished mosques at the Telangana State Secretariat or handover the land of the two mosques to Muslims for rebuilding the mosques at the same sites. This was disclosed by Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, secretary, All India Muslim Personal Board.

The issue of demolition of secretariat mosques and their restoration was discussed during the meeting. The leaders expressed their anger over the demolition of the mosques. The leaders unanimously declared that as per Shariat (Muslim Law), any piece of land endowed for mosque remains a mosque forever. Waqf Board cannot change its status. The Muslim religious scholars clarified that even if the offering of prayer is stopped in a mosque then also it will remain a mosque and will remain so till the day of judgment. Neither the donor nor the Waqf Board or the government have any right to change its status.

The leaders alleged that the demolition of mosques during the construction of a new secretariat is ‘oppression of Muslims, violation of law and constitution and murder of democracy.’ They demanded that the Telangana government immediately issue orders for the reconstruction of the two mosques at the same place or handover the land to the Muslims. They said it is not acceptable for Muslims to construct the mosques on some other place in the secretariat premises.

The leaders also cautioned the Waqf Board that it has no right to withdraw the claim for the mosques and accept alternative places for it. The Waqf Board is responsible for protecting the mosques and it is not entitled to change the status of the mosques. The leaders felt that the Waqf Board has failed in its duty to protect those mosques. They gave two week’s ultimatum to the KCR Government for reconstruction of mosques and warned of state-wide peaceful democratic protests if the same is not done.

It is significant to recall that the Vastu-superstitious Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ordered the demolition of the Nizam-era Secretariat buildings, which were strong and functioning ably. The demolition task was handed over to a contractor, who did not take care. The debris of the buildings fell on the two mosques and a temple. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed regret about the same. But within two days, news came that both the mosques and a temple were razed to the ground.

Later, Chandrasekhar Rao stated that a mosque and a temple will be rebuilt. According to sources, the mosques will not be built in the same places. How can one mosque be built when two mosques were destroyed is the question asked by the leaders? Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi had earlier demanded the arrest of the contractor for the demolition of the mosques. He also demanded the reconstruction of the two mosques in the same places and also the temple. Owaisi’s pleas fell on deaf ears as the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has maintained a graveyard silence on the issue.

The coming two weeks will determine whether Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will rub the Hindus and the Muslims on the wrong side, just months away from the elections to the prestigious Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Telangana – From Struggle to State

The Indian government has today endorsed the decision to carve Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh as the 29th state of the country following UPA and Congress Working Committee (CWC) gave nod for the formation of a separate state of Telangana.

The Telangana bill needs to be passed in Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, in addition to receiving a final clearance from the President of India.

Photo Courtesy: dailypostindia.comAnnouncing the decision today after the CWC meeting, Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken stated that Hyderabad would be the joint capital for Telangana and the remaining Andhra Pradesh for 10 years.

Mr. Maken also noted that Congress decision to allow Telangana was difficult and the resolution asked the Centre to assist Andhra government to maintain harmony in both the regions.

Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh said at press conference that the UPA has reached decision on Telangana after much debate and the decision was “difficult”.

Mr. Singh stated while taking the decision on Telangana, the UPA has kept in mind security, water issues, and the problems that Seemandhra people might face.

When asked about similar demands for separate states by other regional players such as Gorkhaland, Mr. Singh rebuffed saying that Telangana cannot be compared to other demands for separate states. Telangana has “a different history”.

Reacting to the announcement, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA KT Ramarao told a news channel that “The mood is hopeful and optimistic, but at the same time lot of observations coming in because we have been through this before.”

“We are very cautious at this juncture, because we want the bill to be passed in the parliament and until that happens the people of Telangana are not in a mood to celebrate,” Ramarao added.

TRS is the latest front campaigner for a separate Telangana state. TRS was formed in 2001, led by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), who re-ignited the issue. He even went on fast-onto-death seeking creation of separate state.

In his reaction over the announcement for separate Telangana state, KCR said it is a victory for the people and the bill must be passed by Parliament.

The Telangana region, which has backward districts and barren lands with less natural resources, had been at the mercy of incumbent governments at the Centre.

Since the merger of Telangana for the formation of Andhra Pradesh, the governments promised various development initiatives and safeguards including Gentlemen’s Agreement, Prime Minister’s Eight Point Program and Six-Point Formula.

Unfortunately, all these promises were not fulfilled in their true spirits or failed to yield expected results. Therefore the struggle continued. Now the people of Telangana region are rejoicing at the announcement.

However, even if formed by early next year, as pointed out by Digvijaya Singh, the new state of Telangana would need robust development plan, strong commitment and determination from its people to make it a developed state; for which the movement started.
