After tolerating thousands of years of tyranny, harassment and injustice, Indian women seem to have started paying back men in the same coin in the twenty first century. Tit for tat is the call. There is a perceptible change in the mindset of women. The tormentors are tormented to hell by the women. A cursory look at the crime scene across the country will show women taking up cudgels for what some people may call ‘instant justice.’ Mend it or end it seems to be the motto.
First Murder by Rolling Pin Strikes Hyderabad!
Hyderabad was rocked by, perhaps, a first murder by using a rolling pin (Belan in Hindi) this week. One 45 year old Kodavat Reddayya, a resident of Krishnanangar Colony, Champapet, Saroornagar in Hyderabad was allegedly murdered by his 30 year old sister -in-law Sahawat Saroja and 21 year old brother -in-law Sreenu. The victim Reddayya married one Laxmi after the death of his first wife. Reddayya allegedly used to harass his wife after drunken brawls. He also used to visit his sister -in- law Saroja’s house and pick up quarrels under the influence of alcohol. Saroja complained to her brother Sreenu, who warned Reddayya of dire consequences if he did not mend his ways. However, there was no change in Reddayya’s behavior. On 2nd December 2021, Reddayya reached Saroja’s house and had a hungama. Saroja and her brother Sreenu reportedly hit Reddayya with a rolling pin (Belan). The profusely injured Reddayya was shifted to Gandhi Hospital by the accused brother – sister duo, where Reddayya succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The Meerpet police arrested the alleged murderers.
Dubai Fairy Tale Gone Sour After Woman Throws Acid on her Live-in Partner’s Face!
The Coimbatore Police in Tamil Nadu have booked a 27 year old woman for throwing acid on her live-in partner’s face at an apartment in Peelamedu on Friday. The injured lover Rakesh,30, of Kodipuram in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala was working at a Spa in Dubai. He was allegedly in a live-in relationship with his colleague Jayanthi, 27, of Meenambakkam in Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. Jayanthi was separated from her husband.
Rakesh returned to Kerala in July to attend his sister’s marriage. Jayanthi returned to Chennai. Three months ago, Rakesh ditched his live-in partner Jayanthi and he married another woman in Kerala. After sending a WhatsApp message to Jayanthi, Rakesh asked her to meet at an apartment in Peelamedu. They met and after a round of huge arguments over Jayanthi’s pleas for marriage, all hell broke loose. Jayanthi took out a bottle of acid from her purse and allegedly poured it over Rakesh’s face. Rakesh suffered burn injuries to the cornea on his left eye. An infuriated Jayanthi allegedly stabbed Rakesh on his right-thumb with a knife. The drama is not over yet! In the climax scene, Jayanthi consumed poison, according to the police. The apartment watchman rushed the lovers turned enemies to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital.
As per Rakesh’s complaint, Jayanthi was booked by the police under sections 323, 324 and 326 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. Jayanthi lodged a counter complaint alleging that Rakesh had borrowed Rs 18 lakh from her. A cheating case was registered against Rakesh. Their relationship has turned ‘acidic’ literally and a Dubai Fairy Tale has gone sour!
