Envious, Nulliparous Woman Hurls Down 3-year old Nephew from Second Floor in Hyderabad

Asma Siddiqui is a disconsolate mother today. Her world was turned upside down by Ayesha – her sister-in-law, who is married to her husband  Mohammed Ehteshamuddin’s younger brother  Mohammed Shujaatuddin. Ayesha could not conceive in her 14-months of marriage making her pensive. She found that her brother-in-law Ehteshamuddin’s son Mohammed Noman being the only son in the family of three brothers was the darling of the entire family. On Tuesday, she went to the ground floor and picked-up the 3-year old Noman. In a fit of envy, Ayesha allegedly hurled down the innocent and lovely child from the second floor of her house at Eidi Bazar in the old city of Hyderabad.

Ayesha often picked up quarrels with her husband for showering Noman with love. A simple thing like chocolate bought by her husband for the little child would send her into a frenzy. Ayesha was seen picking up the child by two witnesses – one in the family and the other is a neighbor. The profusely bleeding Noman was rushed to a hospital and moved to another hospital but the little boy’s pure soul was yearning for a place in heaven. This envious world was not for him. He breathed his last sending the entire family and the neighborhood into a pall of gloom. Noman’s mother Asma Siddiqui has become speechless and inconsolable. She could not say anything to the media. Asma lost her first child earlier. A girl did not survive five days after her birth. The second child Noman was the apple of her eyes. Her sister-in-law Ayesha’s devilish hurling of Noman has left Asma gasping in the ocean of grief.

Enquiries have revealed that Ayesha used to try to hurt Noman in different ways like putting his little fingers in doorways to crush them or leave electric wires open so that Noman comes in contact with live electricity and leave Hyderabad city and this world forever. When everything failed, Ayesha resorted to the last devilish act of hurling down Noman from the second floor. The common man on the street is dubbing it as an act of jealousy. But in reality, it is an act of envy. There is a difference between jealousy and envy.

Envy is desiring what someone else has! You might see your neighbor with a new car or a co-worker get a new job and you desire the same! You might feel a sense of resentment towards the individual for attaining something you want but have yet to achieve or failed to achieve.

Jealousy is more about holding onto something you already have. You might experience jealousy in a relationship when you perceive a threat or worry that the relationship is changing in a negative way. While these emotions are easy to define and often easy to recognize but they can be difficult to control. Ayesha seems to have lost control over her emotions. Having seen only 21 summers could also be a factor. Young people are in a hurry to get the things they desire immediately. They live life in the fast lane and pay the price. After confession, Ayesha was arrested by Hyderabad City Police.  A case of murder has been registered.
