Tale of Asaduddin Owaisi and Farheen Owaisi

Ordinarily-clever men do not marry but shrewd men marry and run away to Nagpur without consummating the marriage. Magnanimous wives do not chase and drag the deserters and fugitives to courts. Some deserters become politicians and rule and fool the country. Any resemblance to such characters is purely incidental! The men ‘caught in the act’ of marriage with no escape, face life with a wife and try to be courageous. Lions are supposed to be courageous. The character I am talking about is Lion Asaduddin Owaisi, who roars in the Lok Sabha and instill fear in the minds of saffron lambs. But the courageous tail-less Lion Asaduddin Owaisi has his limits. The roar starts from the other side when he enters his house. Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi brings the House (Lok Sabha) down with his convincing arguments but he is down in the dumps at his own sweet home. Here, the lioness roars! The lioness in question is none other than the lion’s better half – Farheen Owaisi. Asaduddin Owaisi has his way even with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who smilingly listens and agrees with some of the arguments and the anecdotes narrated by the learned barrister. It is very difficult to narrate a real anecdote to the Lioness Farheen, who would not buy her Lion Asad’s argument or narration!

Thursday was about to be a destiny-changing day for the Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad. The Almighty was kind and Asaduddin Owaisi escaped unhurt in an alleged right-wing planned assassination attempt. The extremists fired at his car in western UP when the Hyderabad MP was on his way to Delhi from public rallies in Meerut. Generally, lovers keep their promises but a dutiful husband Asaduddin Owaisi promised to take his wife out for dinner. He was busy campaigning in the Uttar Pradesh elections. He had specifically asked his wife to be in Delhi on Thursday and arrived home after the terrible attack. He found her already and set to go out. The truthful husband Owaisi told her about the shooting incident, but she did not believe him. The lioness thought the lion was making up a tale to avoid going out. “New story,” chuckled Lioness Farheen. The cornered Lion Asaduddin Owaisi then suggested to her to switch on the television. Meanwhile, their daughter called her mother at that moment to enquire out about him, which made her realise that he was indeed telling nothing but the truth!

The witty and humourous Lion Asad Owaisi could analyse the situation thus: “Goli se bach gaya, lekin biwi ki tirchhi nazar se bachna mushkil hai (Survived the bullet, but it is difficult to escape wife’s suspicious glances).” I do not know if the lion and the lioness went out for their dinner date. But, surely, they must have thanked the Almighty for their good fate that all is well that ends well. It may be recalled that Asaduddin Owaisi lightens the tense atmosphere during debates in the Lok Sabha. Commenting on the wife-husband relationship and that marriage is not a ‘janam-janam ka saath’ he pleaded with folded hands that let it be this way. The entire Lok Sabha including the Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah erupted in laughter. Asad had said: Ek hi janam kaafi hai! He implied that only one life is enough to handle a wife or a marriage. Being married to the same person life after is difficult.

May the Almighty preserve the Lion Asaduddin Owaisi and the Lioness Farheen Owaisi!
